At least four people died on a half-sunk inflatable craft carrying illegal migrants off the country’s western coast, says a Greek official. Eleven others were found alive. A sailboat discovered the craft early Saturday, recovering the living migrants and two dead bodies.
Later, looking for two other bodies found in the region, about 80 miles west of the Greek island of Kefalonia. A spokesman for the coastguard said the ship is found, “apparently by a mechanical failure.” She refused to give his name, in accordance with the policy of the Coast Guard.
The national origin of migrants, the age, and their destination is not yet known. It is also clear exactly what caused the four deaths.
