Former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani, was killed in a suicide bomb attack on his house near the U.S embassy in Kabul on Tuesday.
Four other members of the High Council of the peace in Afghanistan, led by Professor Rabbani, were also killed in the explosion.
A senior analyst with the Taliban expert and former Deputy Special Representative of the European Union in Afghanistan, Michael Semple, described the attack as “one of the biggest blows to the peace process in Afghanistan has faced.”
Interior Ministry sources told the Daily Telegraph, the attack was carried out by two suicide bombers with Professor Rabbani in Kabul luxury home neighborhood of Wazir Akbar Khan.
