New posters of Apollo 18 and Rise of the Planet of the APES have landed online. For those unaware of its, Director Gonzalo López-Gallego’s Apollo 18 is a found-footage-set in space which posits that 1972’s Apollo 17 mission which was America’s last official— manned moon trip. According to the new sheet, the film will help explain why the nation stopped visiting the moon.
As for the Rise, Director Rupert Wyatt’s stars James Franco, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, Tom Felton, and John Lithgow. Besides from featuring an ape creepily peering over Franco’s shoulder, the global sheet on display here does a nice job of elaborating as to why animals cannot have nice things. Officially, Apollo 17, launched on December 17, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But in December of 1974, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its confirmation, while others say it is the real reason we have never gone back to the moon.
