Texas-born Oscar-winner Renee Zellweger credits health, happiness and a slower-paced lifestyle for her “different” look, not plastic surgery.
“I am glad folks think I look different! I am living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I am thrilled that perhaps it shows,” Zellweger, 45, said in a statement to People magazine.
Her response followed a tsunami of attention she received on the Internet Tuesday after the Katy native hit Elle’s 21st annual Women In Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Monday sporting what looked like a surgically enhanced face. Among the changes noted were a line-free forehead, altered brow and suspiciously puffy face. Most alarming to people who reacted were the wider-looking eyes that replaced the adorable trademark squint that the “Jerry Maguire” star was known for.
However, she chalked up her new look not to the scalpel but to a slower-paced lifestyle – and her happy relationship with boyfriend Doyle Bramhall. These things helped her turn a corner, Zellweger added.
“I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things, growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself. “My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy,” Zellweger continued.
“For a long time I was not doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and did not allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.” [ mysanantonio.com ]
