It is mentionable that the first live episode of The X Factor last night saw contestants perform 80s hits in a bid to secure a place in next week’s show.
While, Gary Barlow also revealed tonight that he is definitely leaving the X Factor after this series. Singing classics like Livin on a Prayer, Summer of ’69 and I am Your Man- all of the contestants received positive comments from the judges, leaving us wondering when things will start getting nasty!
Well, Rough Copy really impressed the judges, with Nicole referring to them as “the best band” X Factor has ever seen. Gary Barlow also confessed how happy he is to be mentoring the boys for his “last series.” 16-year-old Tamera also left the judges singing praises after her rendition of Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody. Nicole told the teen that she had “grown so much” and she was glad she took a risk by putting her through into the live finals.
Notably, Tamera also impressed X Factor fans on Twitter, with Jameela Jamil (@jameelajamil) Tweeting: “Beauty! Lovely voice. Stage presence. Masterful s**t drop. She is AWESOME. I love her. Tamera vs Hannah. It’s on. p.s She’s about 12. Ridic!”
However, Sharon Osbourne’s contestant Shelley Smith did not impress quite as much though, with Gary telling her she needs to modernise her voice.
But it seems like the public agreed, as in the new ‘flash vote’ feature- Shelley received the fewest votes and will definitely be in tomorrow’s sing off. Who was your favourite tonight? Do you think Shelley was the right person to get the fewest votes? [ entertainmentwise.com ]
