Versatile actor Tom Hardy may now be regarded as one of the sexiest men in the world, as well as a uniquely different actor, but things did not always look so good for Tom Hardy.
Notably, Tom Hardy received rave reviews after his performance as bad guy Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises,” which hit theaters July 20. The British actor plays villainous Bane in the hotly-anticipated Christopher Nolan film. Unlike the other actors, Tom is famed for his impressive physique, but says putting on weight for the movie left him sporting a rather large neck.
The actor, who packed on 30 pounds of muscle for the film, had fainted in the sweltering summer heat. According to the sun he admitted that as a teen and young adult he went wildly off the rails, indulging in hard drugs, including crack, drinking binges and experimenting to get away from his middle class upbringing, discussing his problems in an interview with the paper.
Hardy – last seen in varied fare like Warrior, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and This Means War – has garnered massive acclaim for his roles on stage, screen and television, with his fire-breathing performance in the 2008 cult hit Bronson finally putting him over the top.
It is mentionable that he followed that up with Nolan’s 2010 blockbuster Inception – which turned him into a true star – and will next be seen inhabiting the titular role in Mad Max 4: Fury Road, which is set for a 2013 release.
