On Wednesday Rousey in an interview with Jim Rome, the first woman signed to the UFC, and the 24-years-old star who is 6-0 in MMA fights, with every fight ending in the first round the UFC star Ronda Rousey was asked if she abstains from sex the night before a fight like her male counterparts have been known to do. Reportedly, she tries to have as much as possible. Ronda Rousey also won the Strikeforce 135-pound title.
In her interview Rome asked her about male fighters who abstain from sex before a big fight, and Rousey said she actually tries to have a ton of sex because it boosts her testosterone. You can watch a highlight of her appearance above.
While, the mixed martial arts star was responding to a question about what how some boxers abstain from sex before fights. The sex query was part of a 10-question format on the show. One of the other questions was “Ever been in a fight with a guy?”
Rousey says, “Yes I got in a fight with a couple of guys at the end of 2007 in a movie theater,” and “I was only really handling two guys by myself. They sued me for assault because it didn’t really go too well for them. I guess if you lose a fight in Santa Monica the next option is to sue. Everyone in the theater was cheering for me. I was thinking I might have a future in this. It was before the whole MMA thing”
Meanwhile, the study does, in fact, appear to back up Rousey’s hypothesis. A 2009 study conducted by researchers from the University of Michigan and the University of Indiana found a positive correlation between “positive orgasm experience” in women and increased testosterone levels.
