While joint session of the Pakistani parliament has been reviewing its relationship with the United States, and after the positive meeting between the President Obama and Prime Minister Gilani in Soul in the sidelines of the Nuclear Summit, and after the recent visit of the US Central Command Chief General James Mattis along with the Commander of International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, General John Allen whose main purpose was earlier resumption of the Nato supply and review of foreign policy, latest drone attack on North Waziristan has come as a sky from the blow.
In fact, confused in its policy, America has been showing self-contradictory approach towards Pakistan. US also needs Pakistan’s help to win the war on terror and to achive stability in post-2014 after the withdrawal of NATO troops from that lawless country. This fact has repeatedly been admitted by US Sectary Hillary Clinton.
Meanwhile, blame game by some American top officials and law-makers continue against Islamabad, accusing Pakistan for cross-border terrorism in Afghanistan. In the recent past, ISAF commander has alleged Pakistan for rise of insurgency in Afghanistan. While on the other hand, America itself is backing subversive acts in Pakistan with the help of its CIA and Indian secret agency RAW which are continuously been dispatching highly-trained militants and sophisticated weapons from Afghanistan, who are committing targeted killings, suicide attacks, fueling ethnic and sectarian violence in Karachi, Balochistan and other places of Pakistan.
So, in wake of US self-contradictory approach, it will be much difficult for the United States to repair its damaged ties with Islamabad.
